Terri Bell

I enjoy challenging preconceptions about photography through the creative post-production of images.  I also use my photographs and photo segments in digital collage, and in combination with paint and a variety of other elements to create mixed media works on canvas.  Much of my current work involves the layering, through various media, of a multiplicity of interrelated shapes, textures and images.  I utilize grids, squares and linear boundaries to frame areas within my mixed works, just as I use the camera to frame my photographic subject matter.  These processes allow me to explore various interpretive outcomes.   i sometimes take the process even further by re-photographing my work and using those images to create entirely new pieces, thus moving ever further into new areas of post production.
